The Right Hoist

In electric wire rope hoists, lifting is performed by a rope drum and a hook-and-rope system; the travel motor moves the hoist along the rail, while the hoist motor and brake assembly keep the load under safe control. Electric chain hoists are preferred where minimal headroom loss matters, and manual chain hoists where electrical infrastructure is limited.
